It is incredible that in the middle of 2021 patients are still coming to the office who were recently injected with biopolymers, substances of synthetic origin that are used as injectable fillers, mostly liquid silicone, kerosene, industrial oil or any other type.
These substances represent a great danger to health because once they enter the body, the body cannot reabsorb them, causing endless problems such as an exaggerated inflammatory reaction, rejection of the product after days or even years, compromise of vital organs due to migration of the product, autoimmune diseases and even death.
As tempting as the application of methacrylates, liquid silicone, liquid implants, permanent fillers or however they are promoted sound because of their low cost and permanent effect, they are never worth the risk.
It is important for us to know that in Mexico it is still a current problem, that this type of substances are still being applied in aesthetics or clinics by people without medical training or without any ethics, taking advantage of the lack of information of the people.
Always do your research before you go anywhere. Who applies it? What material? What brand? If it is below the normal price, why is it so cheap? Ask all the questions you need to ask. Don’t be embarrassed! It’s your body, your face and your health.
